Dr Visits & Moving

Today we took Ryan in for his 4 well visit. He did really good even though he got 4 shots.

Ryan's Stats

Weight: 41.4 pounds

Height : 42.25"

Yes he is a big kid. Cameron was suppose to get the rest of his two month shots but we have decided to wait a couple more weeks to let him continue to get better from his hospital stay last week. Cameron does weigh a nice 16 pounds 1 ounce. He will be three months old tomorrow. He is getting to the fun stage he is smiling and cooing ad that is new for us because Ryan was such a quite baby it is a lot of fun.

On the Moving Front

Yes we have moved and yes it is a couple months earlier that we had planned on. Like everyone else it seems like in the world we are having money problem. Blaine's part time job has dried up making money very tight. To add on top of that we had our baby Cameron and then last week having Cameron in hospital has put a lot of pressure on us. We have moved into an apartment and oddly enough it is the same complex that we lived in when we first got married. We only moved a block away if that from where we where living. Yes it is i a different ward however we are staying in the ward that we are in for many reasons. The biggest one being Ryan. We have finally got him to go to primary and not cry the entire time. The other thing is that the ward that we should be in is in the same building and that would totally throw Ryan off to go to the same church and see all different people. He knows that he should see Papa and Grandma and all of his friends when he goes to church. We are hoping in the next year that we could find a house to rent in that ward because we really feel like this is the place for us to be right now.

Yes it has been a crazy month. Went camping a couple of weekends ago, Moving and cleaning the old place (I HATE MOVING) then to top it all off Cameron being in the hospital for a couple of days CRAZY. Lets hope that July is a little less eventful.

Cameron in the Hospital

Pics of Cameron in the hospital they are kind of in order.

I promised pictures of Cameron in the hospital. So here is the story. Tuesday night I went to pick up Cameron from my in laws house and noticed that he was a little stuffy but didn't think anything of it. Wednesday he was even more stuffy and wasn't happy. He didn't really sleep the night before he slept a few minuets in his swing. We got him some stuff you plug into the wall to help him breath. It didn't really work because he ended up back in his swing to sleep. I posted about Cameron being sic on facebook and my step mom who is an RN in the ER told me to watch for a fever. Up to this point he still had no fever. Thursday morning at 4am Cameron woke up not very happy and I took his temp under his arm and it was 100.8 so I told Blaine that we needed to take him in. So we got Ryan up and took him to Blaine's parents house. Then it was off to Banner Desert Children's hospital. We got in and didn't even have to wait 5 minuets before they called us back. They took Cameron" temp in his little bum and it was 102.2. They said that they were going to do a full work up on him. After a chest X-Ray, blood work, a catheter, nose suction, and an IV we just hurried sat and waited for results.
After a few minuets they moved us to our own room in the ER and that was really nice because we could close the door and it was a little quieter.
The Dr came in and talked to us and said that he has a cold and a UTI.(Urinary Tack Infection). He said that it is very common in children who are not circumcised. But Cameron is circumcised so he said that most likely the way that he got it was once when he had a poopie diaper and blew out his drawers he got some poopie on his little pee pee and the bacteria traveled up the urethra and caused an infection. He said that because it is so uncommon and he is so little that they where going to keep him for at least 48 hours and give him some strong meds to make sure that it didn't turn into a kidney infection. He said that there was no way to stop the infection. Even if you change a stinky diaper as soon as he dose it he could still get the infection. He gave him a steroid because he vocal cords where swollen from his cold making it hard for him to breath.
We finally got a bed around 3 that afternoon and then the fun started. They gave him the rest of his meds and tried to make him as comfortable as possible. The nurses and Doctors where great. Te nice thing is we had our own room so I was able to stay with him all the time. The bad thing is Cameron couldn't of waited till this fall when the new building was built because there was no Internet access but they said when the new building is built that they would have it then. Wasn't doing me any good. Cameron wanted to be help a lot and kept hitting himself in the face and with his IV so they put a little sock over the IV so he would stop scratching himself. He was such a little trooper. After we got into our room Blaine went to work for a while since there was nothing that he could do at the hospital. After work Blaine and his dad came to the hospital to give Cameron a blessing. Gary anointed and Blaine gave him a wonderful blessing. Cameron did pretty good that night with sleeping I think the Drugs helped. The next morning our DR came in and said that he was very impressed that he didn't have a fever all night and that all of his blood work came back normal. No flu (including Swine Flu) and nothing else seemed to be wrong. We where just waiting on his urine culture to come back. He said that as long as they didn't grow anything that there was a very small possibility we could go home that night. I wasn't getting my hopes up. Until heard from the Doctor I was holding everything together as long as there where people around but that night was a hard night for me. Blaine and I where talking on the way home saying that the way our luck has been the past couple of years we where both waiting for the other shoe to drop. Neither one of us said anything while we where in the hospital but we kept waiting for them to come back with something really really bad. Thank goodness that didn't happen. I am so thankful for all the prayers and for all the support that we received during this hard time.
I am happy to report that later that afternoon the Doctor called our room and said that we could go home. I was so happy I started crying. He was shocked at how fast he turned around for having such a high fever and being so sick to being just a little sick. I know that it was the power of the priesthood and all of the prayers that where in Cameron's behalf.
Cameron ha a really pretty good night last night. He is eating like crazy since he hasn't eaten much the past few days. He did gain a pound in the hospital but I am sure that is because of all the fluid they gave him. He is still not 100% but he is smiling and talking again. He is very happy to have his hands back because he loves to suck on them and study them. Thank you again for all of your support.

Will It Ever End?

Short version for now on my way back to the hospital. Cameron was admitted to Banner Desert Children's Hospital this morning for having a fever and being congested for the past couple of days. My step mom told me is he its 100 to take him in. At 4 this morning I took his temp under his arm and it was 100 so we went to the ER. When we got there we didn't even wait 5 min before we where in the back. They took his temp in him little bum and it was 102.2. After having a catheter, Blood work, nose suctioned and an IV we now have our own room and will be there till at least Saturday morning. We also found out he has a UTI that is very rare in his age of kids. WE will update more later I came home to take a shower and now I am on my way back. They don't have Internet that I have found yet so will update later. Please keep him in your prayers.
Thanks

Camping June 2009

Last weekend we went camping. It was nice to get out of the heat and relax even if it was just over night. Usually when we go camping we come home Sunday morning ish. My choir had to sing on Sunday so we came home after dinner on Saturday so we didn't have to get up at5 am Sunday to come home. I wasn't going to go I was going to stay home and finish things up that we are doing here.(more on that to come a little later) Blaine convinced me I needed a break and to come so I went. This was Cameron's first camping trip and his first time out of town and he did really good. We went to Gary's shop to get something and Ryan saw Gary hooking up the trailer. Ryan went up to Blaine and asked him for his seat so he could put it in papa's truck. The last time they went camping was right after Cameron was born so I didn't go and Blaine and Ryan drove up with Gary and Ryan thought it was the greatest thing ever. This time Ryan wanted to stay in Papa's truck so we let him ride up with Gary. We set up his DVD player and he didn't turn it on the entire way to the campground. When we go camping we always take papa's trailer it has two bunk beds a queen pull out plus the couch and the table that turns into beds. I think it says that it can sleep 9 but that would be a little tight. Cris sleeps in the back of his truck because it has a cover on it. And Gary sleeps in the back of his truck it has a very nice padded carpet kit and he sets up his DVD player and can watch whatever he wants.

Me Blaine and the kids sleep in the trailer usually along with Danny and Nate and Jenny when they come. This trip was a smaller group. Our little family went plus Gary, Danny and Cris. Also Blaine's Uncle Allen and his cousin Keith came so we had a lot of fun. Yep I was the only girl. Until Jenny came into the picture that was about normal for me to be the only girl but it's fun.

We camp up on the Indian reservation above Show Low. We usually camp Horseshoe CienegaLake/Campground this time it was so crowded we decided to camp at A-1 Lake. It is about 5 miles before the turn off for Sunrise Ski Resort. It is a lot of fun. Friday night we get up there set up camp and usually we drive back into Show Low for dinner.

Ryan on our way back into town for dinner.

It was a little colder than the weather people said it was going to be and a little windy so Saturday morning I decided to stay in the trailer with Cameron till it warmed up a little. So Blaine and Ryan went down to the lake to do some fishing.

Unfortunately Blaine didn't catch anything that morning although everyone else did. It probably doesn't help when you son is throwing rocks right in front of you. They came back to camp and we made lunch and then the little boys took a nap so papa stayed behind so Blaine and I could go and fish. We went over to Bog Tank and thought that we would do good since Ryan wasn't with us. Nope we could see the fish jumping in front of us but none of them wanted to be caught. After a while with no luck we went back to camp to see if our kids where awake and hung around for a while then at 5ish we took the kids back down to the lake for one more try. Cameron fell asleep so we just left him in the truck(it was right behind us so we could hear him if he woke up.) I caught a little one but it was one so I was happy that I wasn't going to get skunked.

My Cute little Cameron

I felt bad for Blaine because he had been fishing all day and still hadn't gotten anything. A few minuets later he had one. It was cute because Ryan helped real it in and it was the biggest one anyone had caught all day.

A few minuets later I caught another one and it was a good size so even though I caught more than Blaine we where both happy because we got at least one.

My Bigger Fish

Then it was time to go back up to camp and have BBQ dinner then time to pack up the truck and the kids and head for home. I think we left around 8ish and got home at 11:30 Saturday night. Even though it was a short trip it was nice to relax and get away.

Some fun cute pictures. Look at these cheeks don't you just want to eat them.

Cameron's 1st camping trip.

Love Sack for Sale

I am sad to say but we are selling our Love Sack bean bag chair. This was the first thing we bought when we got married. We have decided that we would rather get a rocking chair so we have decided to sell it. This love sack is the biggest one you can buy in the store. It has a denim cover on it and is a lot of fun. We priced it out online today and to buy it new would be over $700.00 not including the cover. We are asking $150 OBO. Please we are looking for a good home for our beloved Love Sack so let us know if you are interested.

Update

We have an ultrasound on Wednesday for Cameron to figure out what is happening with his hip and if he is going to have to be in a brace or not. So we will let you all know what we find out on Wednesday. Ryan started swimming lessons today through the City of Mesa and lets just say it didn't go over very well. Cameron got way to hot and Ryan screamed the entire time. I am going to see how it goes tomorrow and then will decide if I can stick with it or not.
