AHHHHHHHH

So this past week I have been trying to get everything ready for camp. I am going up as a cabin mom as well as stepping in for our YW Pres9 who is prego and can't go) and our Camp Director( who also can't go) That isn't what is stressing me out though. The fact that I have NEVER been to girls camp IS. Everyone says that I will have a lot of fun and there really isn't that much work for us leaders to do because our YCL'S will do it all sounds good but I still feel like I don't know what I got myself into. The nice thing is I have had a lot of help getting things ready. Our team for camp is BOOT Camp. Build On Our Testimony. So we have everything in an army theme. In the addie that I will be in we have two YCL's and three third year girls and the other cabin mom my friend Koe. It has been a lot of fun and working thinking of all of the gifts and stuff to get the girls. I will have to tell you what we made after camp becasue I don't want any of the girls to see or read what they are getting. We are having a USO show and Sister Shelly has done a GREAT job with the costumes and the choreography making decorations and all sorts of fun stuff. So hopefully I will survive I will post again when I have min.

So just a little update till I can get the real one done. Life has been really crazy since the family reunion. We got home from that Friday afternoon then Blaine and I and my parents and brothers drove to El Paso Sunday then Blaine and I drove home Monday so Blaine could get on a plane Tuesday to go out of town for work and I am going to pick him up in a couple of hours. So on top of him being out of town this week me teaching two bow classes and working at my other job oh ya and I am trying to paint Ryan's new room at our town house and Girls Camp I think I am about to have a nervous break down. I am hoping life will be better in Sept. (ya right) I am hoping to get some more pics posted this afternoon. Sorry everyone life is CRAZY

Day 3 Slide Rock & Lava Tubes

Wednesday we decided to go to Slide Rock however when we got there we couldn't get in the water because they said that the bacteria was to high because of the rain the day before. Bird Family Reuion Day 1 & 2

So we are in Flagstaff at our family reunion and having a blast. My aunt and uncle from Utah is here with 4 out of the five of there kid. My parents are here with my three brothers my step sisters weren't able to come because of work.

On Tuesday we drove to the Grand Canyon

and met my Aunt and Uncle from Utah there. We went in saw what my brothers called the big hole in the ground then went back to the Grand Canyon Village and waited still for Rich and Wendy and then they all went and saw the Imax Grand Canyon movie. Ryan will not go into a normal movie theater let a long an Imax so we started heading back to Flagstaff while they saw the movie. We stopped at Blaine's sisters house on the way back into town to let Ryan play with his cousins Kenny and Madison.

Baby Shower

So sorry I don't have any pictures yet but today I threw my friend Ashely a baby shower. Thank you Thank you Thank you for all of you who helped make it a great success. Our camera died 't work anymore so all of the pictures I took are on her camera so I will steel some of her blog when she posts them. She got a lot of cute gifts for baby Cody. Then I thought that I was going to have a free afternoon but wait brain fart( or rather fried brain because of all the heat) I have a hairbow order that I needed to do at Ribbons and Lace, then after that I told my grandparents that I would go to Costco with them and help get food for our family reunion next week. So that is what happened to the rest of my afternoon. Oh by the way I HATE COSTCO it is SOOOOOOO crowded. I LOVE my SAM'S CLUB business membership becasue you can get in at 7am. So needless to say that we will never have a Costco membership.
My family are flying in from Baltimore tomorrow for the family reunion. So we are really looking forward to that. Other than that as you can tell life in the Matthews house is a little slow :)

Our Crazy Life

So I have been busy with baby showers, baptisms, 4th of July, girls camp, and planning a family reunion. I am so sorry that I haven't been really good with updating but I am hoping that life will get a little better in the next month or so. I am so exited with he way my friends baby shower invitations turned out. I used my cricket die cutting machine to do the entire thing. It was a lot of work but they turned out so cute it was worth it.
Her shower is this Saturday and I am really excited for it. Then Sunday my parents and brothers from Pennsylvania are coming in for the family reunion. We are having our first and most likely last Bird family reunion. We rented a cabin in Flagstaff and are going there on Monday and have something planned for everyday that we are there. My Aunt and Uncle from UT will be driving down and meeting us at the Grand Canyon on Thursday.

CASSIE'S BAPTIZED Three weeks ago our niece Cassie was baptized she turned 8 in May but missed the stake baptism day so had to wait till the end of June. She did really good Robert Shelley's husband baptized her that was really nice. Then while she was getting dressed Ellen had prepared a cute video of pictures and music of Cassie through the years for everyone to watch. It was a really nice day.


4th of July Our 4th was really pretty uneventful. We took Ryan to my Grandparents house then all the family that was in town went and saw Hancock. It was really good it turned out different than I thought that it would but I still really liked it. So on our way to the movie we saw smoke coming from Riverview area we thought that it was a store on fire however as we got closer we saw that it was a car in the Walmart parking lot that was on fire. So we had time to kill so I told Blaine that we should get a closer look. Then I said besides everyone likes to watch a good fire and firefighters. It was funny because Blaine heard me say that and he was like I'm standing right here. Oh well what can you say when it comes to firefighters everything goes out the window. Anyway so we actually got there before the fireman did and right when the gas tank exploded. After the firemen got there it was only a couple of min before everything was out. I guess there was a tow truck driver there most likely having lunch at Arbys and saw the car on fire and he went out to his truck and backed his truck up to peoples cars that were parked next to the car and pulled them out of the way. He couldn't get to one mini van that was parked next to the car so that van caught on fire. It was so cool to watch it all happen. I feel bad for the people though. Can you imagine going to Walmart to do your shopping and then coming outside to see your car's windows smashed out and black. I really felt bad for the lady of the mini van because she had a baby and another small kids with her when she came out and her van looked like they had it loaded to go out of town. So that was the extent of our fire works. Then we had some friends that live on our street over for a BBQ and we set up the little pool and crazy water hose in the front yard and let the kids go wild. They all seemed to have a lot of fun. So sad that Central Christan church didn't have there fireworks show this year so the only fireworks what we saw was the people down the street and the ones on TV. I watched the ones in New York, DC & Tempe and we decided that we didn't like the ones at Tempe town lake. We tried to get a better affect with the fireworks by going down to our friends Tim & Ashley's house to watch the fireworks on there big screen so that made it fun.


WE ARE MOVING :) :) :)
We are so excited to let everyone know that we are moving out of my in laws into our own place. We are staying in the ward which is what we wanted. We are renting a 2 bedroom town house. We are planning on moving the weekend of Aug 8th. We can't move before then because there is no time. We are in Flagstaff all next week till. Then we come home and then Blaine flys to Sacramento for work for a week. Fly's home that Sat then I leave for girls camp thatTues and will be gone till Aug 2nd. But sometime in there I am planning on painting Ryan's new room. The room at the moment is decorated so cute for a little girl with flowers and everything so we need to make it a little more boyish because I don't think the flowers will go with Ryan's firetruck themed room.

So that is just a little of what is going on for the past few weeks. I hope to do better with posting in the next few weeks. I hope to post stuff next week of our fun relaxing vacation. Relaxing is the key word for that.
