1 Year Later

Today is has been a year since Emily was born. Emily Anne Matthews was born today January 26th at 9:36am. In some ways this year has gone by so fast and in other ways it seems like everything has just happened. I am so very grateful for the knowledge of Eternal families that we have. I am thankful for all the love and support that people have shown our family during the hard times. It was my brother Ryan's birthday on the 22nd and I was going to do a post for him but I was really not feeling good so I never got around to it. I know its lame. He would have been 24 years old. Since his and Emily's birthday are very close to each other I have been thinking a lot about them lately. It gives me such comfort to know that my little bro is taking care of his niece and is getting to spend all this time with her and that I don't have to worry about her because I know he is taking great care of her. I also think that they are both hanging out up in heaven taking car of this baby most likely telling him all the stuff to do to drive his parents crazy:) We are really looking forward to welcoming our newest baby Cameron and we know that he is meant to come to our family at this time. After Ryan is done with therapy today and Blaine gets off of work e are going out to the cemetery to put some new flowers at Emily's grave. It is so peaceful there and Ryan thinks that it is fun to put the flowers at her spot. As soon as we turn in he knows that it's Emily is what he calls it and then when we leave he always says bye Emily. In someways I think that he knows more about her than we do. Sorry this is kind of a scatter brain post but I have a lot on my mind and I don;t know if it even works anymore. Lately everything I say comes out wrong. I am so grateful to be a member of the church and to have the knowledge that families are forever and that I can see my baby again as well as my brother and that I am never alone.

Huge Baby

Today I went in for my 30 week ultrasound to check how big baby Cameron is getting. Well we found out that he is getting really big. He is in the 70% for his size great for him bad for me. Ryan was 8 pounds 7 ounces and was born a week late. So as of right now if I go to my due date Cameron will be well over 9 pounds. When Ryan was born my doctor told me that I would not be able to have any babies bigger than Ryan because they would not fit. So it will be interesting to hear what her plan is on Thursday because she has a reputation fro NOT inducing. The lady that does the ultrasound said that I would be back in two more weeks to see how big he has gotten and she thinks that if I last for 4 more weeks that would be great. I am thinking the same thing I am hoping for the first part of March instead of the last week in March. I was at a store yesterday and I lady asked me when I was due and I told her at the end of March and she thought I was due in the next two weeks haha. I must say I am really trying not to be a complainer I have been very blessed this pregnancy that everything has turned out the was that is has. Monday the 26th of January will mark the one year date since Emily was born. It is crazy to think that it has been a year in some ways it has seemed like it has gone by so fast and in others it feels like it has just happened.

Christmas Day

I was a little worried how Christmas morning was going to go this year. Last year Ryan didn't want anything to do with opening any of his presents. Blaine and I ended up opening everything and then he eventually started to play with his new toys. This year went a lot better. I woke up around 6:30 with heartburn surprise surprises. Ryan had been getting up the few days before around 7 so I figured that it would be the same this morning . NOT the way it happened. My grandparents came over at 8:30 and e were going to open gifts then have breakfast. Ryan had just barley gotten out of bed when my grandparents got here. Blaine and I kept wondering when he was going to get up because we wanted to open our gifts because nether one of us knew what we got each other and this was the first time in 4 years. Ryan came downstairs sat an the couch and really didn't want to do anything. So we let him wake up a little and he seemed like he was ready to go. Most of his gifts this year I put into gift bags so he didn't have to tear any paper. He got a little excited so I decided to give him some of the ones that were wrapped. Ryan got two big presents this year that was saved for him to open till the end otherwise we wouldn't have gotten through the rest of the gifts. My grandparents have Wii at there house and Ryan loves to play it and is really good at bowling. So the beginning of November I found one and hid it till Christmas. My grandparents got him two other controllers as well as controller covers. So I let him open the bag that had the controller in it and he just gave me this look like what is this for. Then he opened the bag with the controller covers in it and thought that it was cool because it was green. But he had this look on his face like what do you want me to do with this. Then he opened the bag with he Wii in it and got really excited. We told him that it was Ryan's and that we could play bowling on the big TV. Lets just say Blaine couldn't set it up fast enough. This was big gift #1.

Big gift #2: Just within the last few months Ryan loves trains. we got him a little train set from Ikea that has magnets on the ends of the trains with a little wood track. So I found this rain table at Toys R Us that we got a really great deal on however that is a story in itself. Lets just say we got $175 train table for $80.00. My parents got this for Ryan we got it on Black Friday night and we had it hidden at Blaine's dad's shop until Ryan went to bed Christmas Eve. I got a bicycle bag to wrap it in because it was so big and heavy. We had it set up in front of the bathroom door downstairs so to him he thought that it was just a decoration on the door since it was taller than him. After the Wii was set up and he played a round of bowling I said Ryan oh no we forgot a present come over here and look. So we walked over to me and said look what is this. He said it's a door. So I showed him how to pull the plastic and he kept pulling and pulling till he saw that outside of the box. I have this all on video but I haven't gotten a cable to transfer things from my video camera to the computer yet so that will have to come later. His eyes got so big and he was so excited when he saw his 100 + train piece set. He wanted to take it up to his room right then. We convinced him to let us finish eating fist then it it took Blaine and I 2 hours to set it up. He loves it. It takes up all the extra room in his bedroom but he doesn't care at all. His cars use it as well as his trains. Thanks to Nana & Papa Bird for that. Next time we have decided that if you want to get him a gift with a half of million pic es that you need to come and set them up.

Christmas Tree

I forgot to post some more pictures from when my dad was here. While he was here we went and got our Christmas tree. My dad thought that it was great because we went to Home Depot and picked up the second tree we looked at. Lets just say that when my parents go and get a tree it takes a lot longer and it is usually cold and my dad has to cut it down so on this day it was 70 + degrees and we where in and out in a few minuets.

December Makeup Post

So our December was a little busy and I haven't been feeling very well so I have fallen behind on my posts. Sorry so this is my attempt to makeup for it. The first couple of weeks of December was nice and easy not a lot of stuff to do. I got all of my shopping done so I thought that I was doing good. I got my Christmas cards ready to be sent and sorry I still don't have them all out yet. Half of you got them for Christmas and half of you will get them within the next few days. Sorry will try to do better next year. The last two weeks of December got a little more crazy. Blaine had to drive to Austin Texas for a delivery I was going to drive with him we were leaving Sunday night driving strait through then dropping three pallets of mail at a post office then turning around and driving home. 17 hours one way. Since I haven't been doing all that great we decided it would be best if I didn't go. So Danny Blaine's brother volunteered to go the nice thing is that I was going to get paid for going so that made the deal a little nicer for Danny since he got paid. Blaine and Danny got home late late Monday night. Blaine was up at 8:00 the next day to get the van that they rented back. I fallowed in our car and Ryan got to ride in the van and we returned the van.

Ryan Supervising at the gas station

Blaine and Ryan dropped me off at home and did some last minuet Christmas shopping since it was only 2 days away. They got home in time for Blaine and I to get ready to go to the Temple for Jenny's Endowment session. It was nice to go to the Temple again although I don't think I will do it again while I am big pregnant. I had contractions the entire time but I got through it. Afterwards we went to Jenny's parents house for a great dinner. I have to admit I was very proud of my husband because he stayed awake the entire time with only two hours of sleep in the past two days.
