1 Year Later

Today is has been a year since Emily was born. Emily Anne Matthews was born today January 26th at 9:36am. In some ways this year has gone by so fast and in other ways it seems like everything has just happened. I am so very grateful for the knowledge of Eternal families that we have. I am thankful for all the love and support that people have shown our family during the hard times. It was my brother Ryan's birthday on the 22nd and I was going to do a post for him but I was really not feeling good so I never got around to it. I know its lame. He would have been 24 years old. Since his and Emily's birthday are very close to each other I have been thinking a lot about them lately. It gives me such comfort to know that my little bro is taking care of his niece and is getting to spend all this time with her and that I don't have to worry about her because I know he is taking great care of her. I also think that they are both hanging out up in heaven taking car of this baby most likely telling him all the stuff to do to drive his parents crazy:) We are really looking forward to welcoming our newest baby Cameron and we know that he is meant to come to our family at this time. After Ryan is done with therapy today and Blaine gets off of work e are going out to the cemetery to put some new flowers at Emily's grave. It is so peaceful there and Ryan thinks that it is fun to put the flowers at her spot. As soon as we turn in he knows that it's Emily is what he calls it and then when we leave he always says bye Emily. In someways I think that he knows more about her than we do. Sorry this is kind of a scatter brain post but I have a lot on my mind and I don;t know if it even works anymore. Lately everything I say comes out wrong. I am so grateful to be a member of the church and to have the knowledge that families are forever and that I can see my baby again as well as my brother and that I am never alone.

I love the flowers on her grave. Ryan is such a sweet, loving older brother, and I can't wait to see the naughty things Cameron will do when he gets here!

You might have felt like it was scatter-brained but I thought it was a beautiful, testimony filled post. I'm so impressed with your family's healthy outlook and how you are teaching your son these important gospel concepts. I am really touched and pray that you will continue to feel the peace that you have shared with us. :-)

Love,

Meredith
