After 4 1/2 years we have made our first ER visit with Ryan. I thought we would have made it there before now so I think we are doing pretty good. Like I said in the last post that Ryan gets to go to Tucson with Blaine every once in a while. Well a couple of Tuesday's ago Ryan was going to go it was a normal night a normal size run and NO rain in the forecast. Everyone was happy they even stopped and got some ice cream on the way down. Life was good. They got to there 2nd and biggest stop and Ryan was helping daddy as normal. Ryan sits on the back of the truck and lowers the life gate.
The doc looked at it and said they could get away with gluing it even thought they really should have done a single stitch but that would have required knocking him out and staying a lot longer. He said the only difference was he scar would be a little bigger. Don't all boy's/men have scar under there chin. I said glue away. It took five of us to hold him down but we got it done and then we where out the door. My cute little one is staring to get a little delirious now. We are still waiting for the numbing gel to kick in he was starting to say things that really didn't make since but it was keeping us entertained. This is after they put the glue on his nurse said that if he was a good boy he could have a Popsicle. He has just started to like them so he was okay with that. He really wanted a green one but settled for the red one. He said because there where two that he would share it with me. What a nice little boy.
Showing off his hurt chin.
The big thing they said was to make sure that he doesn't pick at it. We got out of the ER in a record setting time think we where home by 3am and we got there at 1:45 so not to bad in hospital time.
Later on the same Wednesday morning Cameron was acting up and was having a hard time going to sleep. I took Cameron into my room to try and put him down because Cameron's crying was not being handled well by Ryan. Ryan had done so good with leaving his chin a lone all day until I left the room for about 30min. I got Cameron to sleep and then came out to see half of the glue had been picked off his face. Great now what to do so I called his DR's and told them what happened wondering if I needed to take him in to get it re-glued. They said that it had been to long and they couldn't re-glue so to put a butterfly band aid over the part that he took off to pinch it back together. This worked for about a day. The next day he got up and showed us he had messed with it again and got even more off. The only good thing is that the deepest part of the cut was still glued together. By this time his chin was starting to look really red so I took him into our DR. to make sure it wasn't getting infected. She said it looked okay and they told us in the hospital that we couldn't put anything over it. I told her I wish we could cover it so he would leave it a lone. The great thing is she said that we could. She put a Donald duck band aid on it and he started to leave it alone.I decided to keep him home the rest of the week from school only two day's because I didn't think that his teachers would want to watch him from messing with it. He didn't mind the missing school but he did mind the not being able to go to gymnastics with Grandma and the girls.
This is what it looked like a couple of days ago
I am so glad that it was just his chin I could have been a lot worse.
